Port Phillip bay offers a fantastic variety of fishing from the tranquil waters of Swan lake to the thrills of deep sea fishing off the southern coast.

Point Lonsdale Pier itself is a popular land-based fishing spot, mainly for fishing trevally, salmon, squid, whiting and snapper. It is also a known shark-fishing spot, particularly for bronze whalers.

Various fishing charters operate in the area, departing from Queenscliff harbour, including Queenscliff Fishing Charters, Gone Fishing and Gamerec.

Port Phillip Bay and the nearby Barwon River are popular boating areas.
